Sara DuMond is a board-certified pediatrician. A 2000 Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of West Virginia University Medical School, she completed her residency in Pediatrics at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte in 2003. She practiced general pediatrics at a private group practice in the Lake Norman area for seven years, before opening Pediatric Housecalls in 2011. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the NC Medical Society. She has served on the Advisory Board for American Baby Magazine, WebMD, and Little Ones Magazine, and has been a contributing expert on Kidshealth.org. She is married, has 3 children, and she hates when they get sick, too! She is an avid runner and loves traveling and cooking.

Melissa Jesse is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner with over 17 years of experience in the field.  She initially completed her BSN at the University of Florida.  After working in the pediatric intensive care unit, she returned to the University of Florida where she graduated with her MSN in 2004 and received her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification. Since then she has worked both in outpatient and inpatient pediatrics. Melissa is married with 2 children. She dances with a Charlotte based contemporary dance company and enjoys spending time exercising, hiking, and camping with her family.

Allison Berger is a pediatric nurse practitioner who has been working in pediatrics for over 15 years, including as a pediatric RN in primary care, pediatric urgent care, and the pediatric ER. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) with a Masters degree in nursing and began her career as a pediatric nurse practitioner in a pediatric urgent care setting. She absolutely loves working with kids and it is truly her passion! When not at work, she is usually spending time with her pug, Benny, or with her boyfriend. They love spending time outdoors, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

Rebecca is a board certified pediatrician who received her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine. She completed residency at Inova LJ Murphy Children’s Hospital in Falls Church, VA where she continued on as an attending physician before moving to Charlotte, NC. She was a general pediatrician for over 14 years and worked in a pediatric urgent care in the Charlotte metropolitan area. She is thrilled to be back in Virginia to serve the local community doing what she loves as a pediatrician.

Nina Niu is a board certified Pediatrician. She graduated from Weill-Cornell Medical College in 2009 and completed her pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2012. After one year as an urgent care doctor at CHOP, she and her family moved to Northern Virginia, where she has been a primary care pediatrician for the past 11 years. She has loved getting to know all her families for the past decade. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, going to sports practices, working out, running and cooking. Dr. Niu is very excited to join Pediatric Housecalls and continue serving her community in a new way!

Becca Jones, PNP

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Becca Jones is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner with nearly 10 years of experience, including 4+ years as a NICU nurse and 5+ years as a PNP in primary care at Eastover Pediatrics. Becca received her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Georgia, completed her BSN at Queens University, and then attended Vanderbilt University where she graduated with her MSN. Becca is married with 3 children and spends most of her free time chasing them around! She is excited to continue serving the Charlotte community with Pediatric Housecalls!

Laura Hunning, RN

Laura started working at a pediatric clinic at age 15. At 21 years old she became a Certified Medical Assistant and continued working clinical for a local pediatric clinic.

Laura graduated from Cabarrus College of Health Science with a degree in nursing and started her career as a RN. Over the past 12 years she has been working as a med/surg nurse, she worked as an RN at a local pediatric clinic and is so happy to be part of the PHC team for the past few years.

Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and two girls. She loves to be out on the boat every chance she gets and enjoys traveling when she is able.

Samantha Casnettie, PNP

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Samantha is a pediatric nurse practitioner with 15+ years of nursing experience in hospital and primary care environments. She spent the first six years of her career working as a registered nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In 2018, after earning a Master’s degree in Nursing from Duke University and becoming a certified lactation consultant, she began her career as a nurse practitioner, caring for newborns in hospital nurseries and then at a pediatric primary care office. She is originally from Tennessee (Go VOLS!) and moved to Charlotte in 2012. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Mary Garrison, MD, FAAP

Dr. Garrison is originally from Greenville, SC and from a young age she knew she wanted to be a doctor. She studied biology in college at Washington and Lee University and then attended medical school at MUSC in Charleston, SC, graduating in 2002. She completed pediatrics residency at UNC Chapel Hill in 2005. She has worked in the Concord area for several large pediatric groups over the past 20 years. She has two teenage sons who keep her busy with their sports schedules. She enjoys travelling with her family and staying active.

Shaoleen Daly, MD

Med/Peds Physician

Greater Charlotte area

Dr. Shaoleen Khaled Daly is a board-certified Internal Medicine and Pediatrics physician who provides compassionate, comprehensive care for patients of all ages. She completed her Med-Peds residency at East Carolina University/Vidant Medical Center and now practices in the Charlotte area. She’s passionate about empowering families with evidence-based, whole-person care. Outside of medicine, she loves traveling the world, capturing moments through photography, practicing hot yoga, and exploring new cuisines and spending time outdoors with her family and goldendoodle.
